The artist explores the boundary of Light, creating works in various genres.
The hypergraphic work «Mazut» (10 m, rice paper, polyethylene), a painting,
the graphic series «Exploring Darkness», large graphic sheets on rice paper («Weightlessness», «Thoughts»), the object «Shirts», cut from pristine white rice paper as if worn on invisible bodies, and the installation «Volume of Memory» (165 graphic miniature portraits that, together with shadows, create
new combinations of projections on the wall-screen).
A disconcerting certainty that everything will be fine borders on illusions
of impunity. There is less light than darkness. Darkness is majestic.
A blind leap backward remains a fleeting shadow on the list of what once was… Every person who has touched me with their life is forever stored in a small
box in the brain, connecting everyone into a single registry of the calendar
flow of time.
Only 10% of birds caught in mazut, painfully cleaned, survive…
But what about people? Once trapped in this sticky, viscous sludge
of compromise with reality, how can one cleanse oneself? How to survive?
Is this an echo of an ancient Greek tragedy, playing the role of a sobering
and spiritually renewing force?
A catastrophe that forces a person to become truly human
and to care for every bird, trying to save its life.
It is difficult to keep a white canvas, a clean sheet,
a new white shirt after walking through mazut.
